Depending on the breed of the cat, it may have a different average weight. Some references according to the races are:
• Common European cat: between 3.6 and 4.5 kg.
• Persian cat: between 3 and 5.5 kg.
• Siamese cat: between 2 and 4.5 kg.
Finally, we have the maine coon or mancoon cats, it is a breed of domestic cat native to the United States, known for being the largest domestic cat breed in the world. Females can weigh between 5.9kg and 9kg on average, and males up to 11kg.
It should be remembered that it is a reference to the average weight of an adult cat; which means that it exceeds two years. Something curious is that cats in the home tend to gain weight: they lead a sedentary life, spend most of the time still and, sometimes, over the years, they end up becoming overweight. This occurs more often with neutered cats and those living without the company of other cats, who show a tendency to exceed their ideal weight.
